I had been searching for some time for a wow-factor organic rustic diamond and the right people to set it in a ring - and when I finally came across the website of Sophia Perez Jewellery, I really liked what I saw and knew they were the people I wanted for the project. Sophia creates one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery, featuring unusual diamonds polished in interesting shapes and cuts. Sophia designs each piece of jewellery in her London studio. She believes jewellery should not only be beautiful and well-made, but sustainable - recycled or Fairtrade metal and ethically sourced natural gems and diamonds are used.
From a young age, Sophia would visit her father's jewellery workshop in Hatton Garden, London. She would watch her father make beautiful handcrafted jewellery with precious gems and metals. Eventually, her father gave her small bits of metal to mould and shape. This is where Sophia's passion for jewellery and design ignited.
Sophia launched her eponymous jewellery brand in 2018. Sophia designs every piece in her collection and her brother, Daniel, handcrafts each piece. Their sibling bond gives them a special working relationship where they instinctively understand each others work and how a piece will come together using both of their skills.
